Therapy and Counselling

Integrative counselling

‘It may be that when we no longer know what to do we have come to our real work and that when we no longer know which way to go we have come to our real journey.’

Wendell Berry

Integrative counselling is a flexible and inclusive approach to therapy that is grounded in the humanistic tradition. The focus is on client self-development, growth and responsibility within a genuine, accepting and empathic relationship between client and therapist. A humanistic philosophy underpins all of the work I do including my ecotherapy work.

My aim is to help you to develop strength, creativity and choice in how you address your problems in the here and now. I believe that in spite of temporary difficulties where we may become stuck, we all have the potential for growth and change through self-exploration and self-awareness.

As an integrative therapist I believe that therapy is not a 'one size fits all approach'. In our work togehter I will take the time to learn about you and your individual preferences, beliefs and needs. I will suggest ways for us to work together drawing on a range of therapeutic styles which may be as a single combined approach throughout or using different approaches at different phases of the therapy.
